93rd Evergy Plaza Lighting Ceremony

  • Country Club Plaza W 47th Street and Broadway Boulevard Kansas City, MO, 64112 United States (map)

Kick off the holiday season in style and join us for this beloved Thanksgiving tradition in Kansas City.

This year's Evergy Plaza Lighting Ceremony takes place from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thanksgiving, Nov. 24. Negro Leagues Baseball Museum President, Bob Kendrick, will flip the switch, followed by a fireworks display. Attendees can expect to enjoy performances by Quixotic and KC-based Celtic-rock band, The Elders.

The Evergy Plaza Lights shine daily from 5 p.m. to 3 a.m., Thanksgiving through mid-January. All Plaza parking garages will be open and accessible throughout the Plaza Lights season.

While enjoying the lights, shoppers can peruse the detailed window displays and take in the sounds of the season.

It is known simply as the Plaza Lights. Stunning in its volume. Dazzling in its beauty. Brilliant in its simplicity. The lighting ceremony ushers in the Kansas City holiday season and is a must-see, must-do event for hundreds of Kansas City families and visitors who come to town specifically for the opening event and enjoy each night throughout the holidays – just to be a part of the magic.
